First, the origin and development of the guitar
The ancestors of the guitar can be traced back to the ancient Egyptian rifle, ancient Babylon and ancient Persian plucked instruments two or three thousand years before BC. The oldest instrument of modern guitars that archaeologists have found is the Hittite guitar that lived in the ruins of the ancient Hittite gates in Asia Minor and northern Syria before 1400 BC. The 8-shaped inner curved body determines the sound resonance and instrument characteristics unique to the guitar. This has also become the most prominent feature of guitars and other plucked instruments. The Renaissance was the heyday of the guitar.
In the sixteenth century, the four-stringed guitar and its close relatives, the Viola, played with fingers, reached a high standard in performance and creation. Guitars and Vieira are not only popular with the public, but also often become court instruments. At that time, the guitar, the masters of Vieira had Milan, Nalvaise, Mudala, and the five-group re-stringed Baroque guitar masters Sans, Corbetta, and Vessai in the seventeenth century. At that time, the phonemes and fingerings were represented by numbers or letters, and the iconic notation similar to the six-line spectrum used in the current acoustic guitar.
Around 1800, the new six single-string guitars quickly gained the favor of almost all of Europe with its clear harmony and easy tuning. The golden age of classical guitar has finally arrived. Among them, Sol and Giuliani are guitar masters and outstanding musicians. They created the first large-scale repertoire including the concerto with outstanding talents for the six-string classical guitar, which laid the foundation for the future development of the six-string guitar. The guitar can flourish in the twentieth century and reach unprecedented glory. to a large extent, thanks to the “father of modern guitars” Terega’s in-depth research and innovation in the aspects of guitar making, instrument performance, performance techniques and tracks. Terega and his teacher, Alkas, have been working with guitar maker Torres, and eventually produced modern classical guitars with enlarged bodies, increased volume, and significantly improved instrument performance.
Martin was born in 1796 in the German River Elbe. The father is a carpenter and the guitar has not yet been recognized. His father offended the local violin maker for selling homemade handmade guitars. In 1807, his father was ordered to suspend business.
After mastering the initial knowledge of guitar making, Martin came to Vienna, the capital of music, to become a master of violin and guitar, the disciple of John. After marrying in Vienna, Martin returned to his hometown and obtained a formal license for guitar manufacturing. In order to get rid of the interference, he moved to the United States. In 1834, at the 6th Hudson Street in New York, he opened his first guitar store.
The acoustic guitar manufacturing industry, which has been dominated by Martin and Gibson, created a new brand in 1900. In the 1960s, when the acoustic guitar was popular, Fender, the king of electric guitars, also took the last bus of the folk hot.
Second, the difference between folk guitar and classical guitar.
1. The difference in appearance and structure:
For classical guitars, nylon guitar strings are used for solo and performance music. The world’s three major strings, Daddario, Savalles, and Augustine, are for classical guitars. The folk guitar uses a steel string, which is determined by the nature of its performance; The regular acoustic guitar is not the same as the classical guitar. In the combination of the fingerboard of the piano and the guitar speaker, there are 14th fret on the fingerboard, and the classical guitar is just the 12-fret overtone point. But some folk guitars are made by classical guitars; The acoustic guitar is prepared for the accompaniment. So of course, the straps are indispensable.
At the same time, there are strap buckles, careful beginners can find out, classical guitars and regular acoustic guitars are completely different in the way and setting of the strings. I won’t say much here.
2. Different forms of performance
Classical guitars can mainly perform the following ways: guitar solo, ensemble, concerto and accompaniment; The folk guitar is played in a single way, just an accompaniment. There are also many people who use the steel string guitar (the acoustic guitar) to play the fingering guitar tracks, creating a lot of alternative styles. But in terms of music art, classical guitars are much more expressive.
3. Different learning methods
From the nature of performance, you can know that the learning methods and methods of learning these two kinds of guitars are different. Classical guitar learning is through regular posture, training and step-by-step learning exercises. Strictness and professionalism are the characteristics of classical guitar learning; The folk guitar is free in learning. But there is more work on the accompaniment type and rhythm. In general, getting started is relatively simple.
4. Different artistic connotations
Classical guitar represents the continuation of music art. Classical guitar, which is the world’s three major instruments, inherits and promotes the metamorphosis of music art. It is even more expressive than all other instruments. Beethoven and Browwell (20th century world music spokespersons) all made high prices for classical guitars. Therefore, classical guitars represent a higher level of art, and the quality of music is also required to be appreciated; The artistic connotation of folk guitar performance is generally subordinate to singers and songs, and the meaning of the song is actually more closely expressed through the accompaniment. Of course, this requires the cooperation ability of both parties.
